Like many, I knew of BIll from the online forums in the early 2000s, where I learned the foundation of SEO. The interaction was more reading and learning from him and the veteran group. Then I was chosen to present at SMX East about Content and SEO and I was on a panel with Bill in 2012 and it was an instant connection. He gave me the confidence to get up in front of the crowd and speak as I was nervous presenting with him and AJ but he said, "Lisa, they wouldn't have chosen you if they didn't feel you knew what you were doing."

Hearing these words from a legend helped me more than you know, Bill. After the panel, Bill and I would chat online about many things from SEO, about the beach, and eventually getting hot cocoa. :) That was the joke since I live in Florida. I feel fortunate to have been part of the amazing SEO group and connect with Bill not only online, but in person, as an everyday individual. Sending only positive and healing to you Bill.
