I've been acquainted with Bill's work/writing/musings on topics like Language Patents, SEO, Schema markup etc. since early 2008. Back then, there were only a few people that were really worthy of the title of SEO industry expert. Bill was one of those rare few, and he continues to be an excellent example. His willingness to help you understand the topic and to nurture respectful dialogue is what I've liked most about him professionally. I've even had the pleasure of jumping on a few video calls/podcast throughout the years, with David Harry, Terry Van Horne, Doc Sheldon, Donna Fontenot, Steve Gerencser, etc. the old Dojo crew.

I finally met him in 2019 PubCon, Vegas and it was really a wonderful treat. However, it wasn't until we started following each other on Facebook that I discovered his love of flowers, photography and politics... and that's what's kept him real and humble in the big picture.
