Every week myself and Carolyn Lyden run #SEOchat (this is all Carolyn, I just came on to help a bit). It's a fun little Twitter chat where people can "get together" and discuss SEO and crack a few jokes (if Alan Bleiweiss joins, it's a bit more than just a "few" jokes).

It's not a "big deal" - we don't have any sponsors, we're not a part of any group or company. We don't even have any fancy banners or sponsored promotion. It's 100% grassroots.

While we have some people guest host the chat, either myself or Carolyn will host it pretty regularly.

To be honest, when I host the chat I get a little nervous. Maybe people won't show up. Maybe I picked a bad topic to cover. Maybe the conversation will be stale. That kind of thing.

And it can be a little slow going at times as people leave their busy days and file on into the chat. As a host, you're sitting there wondering what did I do wrong? Why is that starting off so slow? Will people actually join?

I never told you this Bill, but I always feel a sense of relief when I see you join the chat (as you very frequently do).

I know when you join that there will be a conversation and that there will be a nice flow and a great deal of interaction. There have been so many chats where I go back through the conversation and see all of the comments and discussions you started that I missed during the chat itself. I'm really thankful for that. It means a lot to have you there and it has a bigger impact than I think you realize.

I know it's a small stupid thing. I know everyone is going to write about how you helped them learn SEO and so forth (and I feel the same).

But for me, you taking the time to join our little chat means the world.

Thanks Bill!

Love,

Mordy
