I remember reading one of the posts by Bill at SEJ a few years ago. It was my first interaction to any sort of content written by him. The content was simple yet very very different from what I had been reading. I went on to search his name and came to seobythesea.com. I read and continued doing so for years to come. I still go back and read a lot of his posts because i just can't remember everything.
I remember contacting him on messenger with my noob questions about structured data and him replying back very generously without any indication to me that how noob I was!!! Bill has been someone I have always looked up to and dreamt to be like. There is a saying in my language which goes on "You can measure a person's greatness by his humility when he knows everything or has everything". And Bill, I would like to say that you are by far the greatest SEO expert I have ever come across!
